Brentschen ***

Welcome to the Mini-Margalef of the Wallis. The Brentschen crag is noted for its breathtaking mountain views and having really unique, for Switzerland, pocket and finger hole pulling holds. The rock needs some getting used to and can feel sandy. The ambience, especially on the free standing tower is awesome. The recently developed routes on the south side are especially airy and afford wonderful views far down into the lower Wallis. Spring time will find most of the routes still wet from run off. September through November can be ideal. Attention! Please refrain from smoking or having campfires in this area. Risk of forest fires!
