Cheselenfluh – Stepfen ****

Walti Britschgi, the tireless searcher of new terrain, has here an exclusive offer for a thrilling adventure. The weather isn’t a huge factor here because the routes in the “Chaltbach” Sector are protected from the rain. What you do need is nerves of steel, new batteries in your pacemaker, and a flawless rappelling technique, as the overhanging rappels leave no room for error. Under no circumstances are the fixed ropes to be used for rappelling. They are only there to pull yourself in to the next rap anchor (clip your daisy chain into the fixed rope). Have fun and be brave on this unbelievably airy adventure. If you want a little less excitement, check out the “Meteorit” and “Stepfen” Sectors where the routes are less steep, yet still quite technical.
