High above the Rhone Valley, these granite pillars rise up above the trees. It is a wild, steep, and airy place. A place that invites discovery. The fall colors are unforgettable and almost mystical in nature. OK, let’s get real: the approach requires sturdy footwear and a helmet, especially in winter and spring when it is often icy. If you are only there to climb “Merveille…”, the rap in from above is best to do the climb. A beautiful but at times exposed and poorly maintained trail leads back to the parking lot.
