Disentis – Lai Alv ***

Route development in the Magriel Valley began in the 90’s. Yet, the long approach shielded it from the masses. Thanks to the new Cuolm da Vi Aerial Tram, you can easily reach Lai Alv in an hour. Still not a hop, skip, and a jump, but the hike is worth it! Fantastic granite and routes for the entire family can be found on the various crags. The alpine multipitch routes are highly recommended for the experienced climbers. Due to the elevation, it can be ideal in summer. During winter months, it is also possible to climb on Gendusas East Spur and on Crap Baselgia. These are south facing, protected from the wind, and are totally accessed from the ski run!
