This fine presentation by authors Marco Romelli and Valentino Cividini introduces the reader to these mountains and their most significant routes on  416 richly illustrated pages. The book is divided into 9 chapters beginning with the Ecrins Massif and the Gran Paradiso area. It then covers the Mont Blanc group and its 4000ers followed by the Grand Combin. Then it moves on to the Weisshorn, Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, Mischabel, Weissmies, the Bernese Oberland, culminating with the Piz Bernina in the Griesons. The detailed write ups complete with photo overlays of the routes, maps, and topos are most ingenius.
