Galengrat – Hannibalturm *****
The Galengrat Dihedral has long been a popular classic climb. Unfortunatey, the glacier has been receding at an alarming rate making the climb only approachable in early summer. Huge unstable boulders on the glacier later in the year pose a serious hazard reaching the base of the climb. Read current conditions at www.filidor.ch. Considerably harder and more challenging is the Remy Brothers’ creation “Lunar Impulse”. The second pitch especially is a heady lead. It follows a dihedral and requires placing gear. Both routes can be linked at the upper pitches. “Hannibal Tower” is perched like a throne. Climbing here is pure Plaisir!

Due to the massive recession of the glacier, the entrance is only accessible until the early summer! Later in the year large boulders on the glacier complicate the access, then it can even be dangerous!
