Steingletscher ****
Steingletscher, here you will find great Plaisir climbing in an alpine setting.
A wide variety of offerings from short routes for the kids around Umpol to fantastic multi pitch routes on the Pfriendler or on the Platten. As an alternative to the Pfriendler there are now 9 beautiful steep and grippy routes to choose from on the North Pfriendler. The classic routes on the Undertalstock have been recently retrofitted, yet a well rounded gear rack is still needed.

21.6.2021 - Rebolting sector "Hell"
Many new bolts now delight the climber's heart on the way in the route, the "second pitches" now finally also entice with perfect equipment and at the end of each route may be let off at new deflections. In the current SAC climbing guide, it says in a slightly disrespectful tone to this area: "For practicing the belay technique, the climbing garden is a sensible destination". We decidedly disagree, because if you crack the often very bouldery entry meters in the part to the left of the tunnel, or decipher the tricky moves in the two lines to the very top, you should not be surprised in the evening if the skin of your fingertips is a little thinner than usual. This is certainly not only due to the belaying...
And in the sector to the right of the tunnel, quite grandiose pleasure routes in grippy rock await their climbers. After a ski tour on the Sustenhorn still some climbing? Maybe some of you have already wondered about your unbelievable lack of form when you suddenly found yourself floundering in the rope on a 5c+. We have therefore very carefully also "rebolted" the ratings of the routes, so that this crag fits a little better into the overall picture "climbing on the Steingletscher". But it still remains the case that whoever can easily climb a 6a on the Pfriendler, may doubt his abilities on a 6a+ in the Hell... This gives then just as eh and jeheh, discussion material with the raspberry coup in the restaurant Steingletscher!

Christof Klingler has rebolted his route "Petra" on the Steingletscherplatten. This has significantly increased the number of intermediate belays and also optimized the line somewhat (see topo). He did not rebolted the last two pitches, which are not worthwhile (vegetation). Material: 13 Quickdraws, no Cams necessary.
