Räterichsbodensee ****
Here is even more fun waiting for you on the Grimsel Pass. The lakeside slabs are an ideal playground for climbers of all levels. Most of the routes are pure friction climbs. The less steep it is, the more polished it is. Trust your feet! A worthy endeavour is linking “Tim and Struppi” and “Lady Mary” together. Beware: Sudden thunderstorms and snow fall can turn the charming crags into a dangerous rockfall epic!
Risk Reports

More good news from Räterichsbodensee! André Nyffeler and Sandro von Känel have partially rebolted the routes “Tim and Struppi”, “Grimselstrom” and “Neuholz” with the support of rebolting. Broken bolts and abseil points were replaced. “Neuholz” now has three new pitches at the top (5b, 5a, 6a+). These three routes can be climbed again. However, there is still rubble on the ledges, so be careful, especially when abseiling! “Bruni Chue” and “Germer - Toni” have not yet been rebolted and there are still some blocks in the routes that still need to be cleared. These routes should not be climbed!

Good news from the Räterichsbodensee! The hiking trail is now open again. Thus, the routes to the left and right of the rockfall zone can be climbed again. The routes "Bruni Chue" to "Neuholz" should not be climbed for the time being. These routes still have to be rebolted. "Tim und Struppi" was also partially damaged. In pitch 5 and 6 bolts were bent/damaged. Start of 7th length 1st bolt broken off (nuts/friends necessary).
6.6.2023
Once again a rockfall occurred on the Seeplaten! The extent is much larger than in 2022 (see photo documentation). The potential for another rockfall is unfortunately obvious (violet outline). Whether the hiking trail can be reopened at all must be decided by a geologist on site. A possible rehabilitation can only take place after the official release of the hiking trail. Therefore, the routes "Bruni Chue" to "Neuholz" remain closed until further notice. Access to the routes further to the left of the Sommerloch also remains closed. In short: Climbing on the Seeplatten is not possible for the time being! Unfortunately, the info about the rock fall reached us only after the printing of the new edition of plaisir West Volume 1!
