Galerie ****
The Gallery is an ideal winter climbing destination. The short approach, sunny location, and quickly drying rock and combined with the huge selection of available routes here assures (almost) something for everyone. Precise footwork and strong fingers are the keys to success in the Gallery. Quite different, on the other hand, are the forest sector climbs, where unique, powerful, and unrelenting overlaps make for fantastic climbing on the left side. Everybody should at least have a go at “May Ling”, “Sause Wind”, or “s’Buebatraumli” (dialect for A Boy’s Dream). The Forest Sector is even good climbing on warm days.

Jürgen Bormann opened the two routes "Schiefe Bahn" (6a+) and "Schwere Sau" (6a+) on the lower, first gallery (sector A extrem OST). Both routes were no longer climbable. Jürgen has cleaned, replaced the bolts, optimized their positions and moved the belays down a bit, so that now it is possible to redirect well. In the process, the unpleasant and absolutely unrewarding exit over the roof into the crags at "Schiefe Bahn" has been eliminated, which explains the new rating of 6a+. The result are two wonderful routes in the best rock with gigantic moves at moderate difficulties. We thank you very much for your effort Jürgen!

Topo Galerie Forest sector
The left Forest sector above the gallery between Amden and Weesen represents a very popular destination for climbing in the range between 6c-8b, the focus is in the 7bc range. The sector has many advantages on its side, including quick accessibility, sunny location, comfortable wall foot and of course, first and foremost, exciting routes in slightly overhanging wall. Compared to the last, official publication in extrem OST from 2013, a lot has changed, 16 of a total of 38 routes are either new, renovated or with a changed line. Thanks Marcel Dettling for the updated topo!
