Brüggler ****
The Bruggler is without question one of the most beautiful climbing areas in Eastern Switzerland. The huge water grooved slab holding many moderate multipitch routes stands in stark contrast to the more difficult nearby Bruggler roofs. You can almost always find a quiet place to climb. No wonder as most of the razor sharp edged routes in this area are rated 8 or above! Climbing under these overhangs is possible almost year round. In summer, they provide shade. During the colder months, the sun nicely warms the rock. Only in the Spring when the snow melts, the ascent and approach is not worth it. Heavy rainfall can quickly convert the wall into a waterfall, which might not be so bad if you are in desperate need of a shower. For most climbers, on the other hand, it tends to dampen your enthusiasm! Whether slab climbing is your thing or you prefer overhangs, a trip to Bruggler is definitely worth it.
