Salvan ****
“Bravo Lapp” (5b+, 250m) is the classic plaisir gem in the area. The route climbs buttresses and slabs up to the idyllic “Bouddha” Sector - home of the most difficult test piece in Salvan: “L’oeuvre” (9a) is significantly shorter (12m) than “Bravo Lapp”, but then again quite a bit harder. During a short trip through the Wallis in 2018, The American bouldering sensation Shawn Raboutou fired this long awaited project. Two years later, local hardman Samuel Ometz nabbed the 2nd ascent. The many climbing crags around Salvan have something for everyone and all share something in common: perfect gneiss, athletic lines, and incredible ambience. The climbs are often strenuous with cruxy hard moves.
