Orny – Aiguilles Dorées *****

The routes on the Aiguilles de la Varappe as well as the the satellite peaks of the Aiguille sans Nom can not be matched for aesthetics and rock quality. The reddish brown granite needles soar proudly and steeply into the sky high above the glaciers. The routes are logical and follow natural lines and the high alpine setting is a fantastic backdrop. Access is from the modern “L’Envers des Dorees” Bivouac Hut.
