Miéville – La Balmaz ****

Convenient access and plenty of sunshine make Mieville a popular destination. The featured brownish-red gneiss is solid. “Pilipili” is the classic and follows an obvious pillar. “Terry” is the easiest and most popular route. Also recommended is “Pour Miss”, but unfortunately, the climbing is occasionally broken up by grassy ledges. The upside, however, is that these ledges may be conveniently used to safely exit the route in the event of inclement weather. For those who want to cruise easy routes or just hang out, check out the new sector “9a”. Actually, the only thing hard here is the name! Finely tuned foot work and honed finger strength is more important at the La Balmaz crag. This mellow area is safe and fun for the whole family. Hardmovers will find athletic hammer routes in the sector "Copains d'abord".
