One of the most beautiful alpine sport climbing areas of the Alps was developed in the 90s by Egon Feller and friends. His focus was Wiwanni on the south flanks of the Rhone Valley. Since then, many new routes have been added. You will find a nice selection in many grades, whether single pitch sport climbs or long multi pitch routes, in this grippy gneiss rock arena surrounding the comfortable Wiwanni Hut. The fabulous 12 pitch “Steinadler“ route leads to the summit of the 3000 m Wiwannihorn. From the summit cross you will have unforgettable views of the proud Bietschhorn and the many high peaks (the highest peaks in Switzerland) of the Valais. Despite the very good protection, don’t forget where you are, which is up high on a wild alpine peak. The descents as well as the approaches demand respect and care.
