Either before or after you visit the beautiful old town of Briancon, you will want to check out the Croix de Toulouse across the way: well protected climbing on “Le Pilier gris” up steep limestone. A little more casual, but no less beautiful is the very nice Via Ferrata to the viewpoint next to the summit cross.
