Cadarese *****
Barely peaking out from behind the edges of the forest when viewed from the parking lot, the rock seems a bit less than impressive. But upon arrival, you come face to face with striking walls full of cracks, dihedrals, and aretes which easily reveal where the climbing is. The central sector routes are bolt protected and it's convenient to test your gear placing skills. The upper sector is massive and is home to the absolutely stellar crack route “The Doors”. If you have a healthy set of Camalots and know how to place them, the trad sector is not to be missed. From finger cracks to off width, and steep to mega steep, you are sure to find an aesthetic line extraordinaire here! Jacopo Larcher was able to send his long time project in Cadarese “Tribe” in 2019. It is considered the hardest trad climb in the world. The South Tyroler did not want to give the route a grade. It was repeated in 2020 by James Pearson. He was also hesitant about grading it, but at any rate, it was believed to be at least 9a! Future ascents will lead to a more definitive consensus. To recoup after the send, consider soaking in the nearby hot springs resort.
